After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Sooo-z Mastropietro accepted a position as the art director and custom designer at a high end, felted art rug company catering to a select clientele. The rugs she designed would later appear in Architectural Digest. She left the company in 1997 to form her own business, Mastropiece.

For the next three years, Sooo-z created a collection of unique hand painted silk clothing and accessories. Her work was regularly selected to appear at exclusive designer craft shows in and around New York City.

Sooo-z is also very active in her community. She has been featured in Living in Stamford Magazine. The Stamford Downtown Special Services Department has commissioned her to contribute works to the "Cow Parade" and "Car Parade" outdoor art exhibits. These works were later sold at auction to raise money for local charities. To keep her fingers limber, Sooo-z is also a classical bassist and performs with regional symphonic orchestras several times a year.

These days the focus of Mastropiece is the home. Starting with the interior of her own house with themes of Italy, food, music, and characters, Sooo-z has been painting murals in some of the finer homes in Fairfield County. She soon discovered that people who take great pride in designing the interior of their homes are often quite fond of the exterior as well. This idea influenced Sooo-z to begin offering hand drawn pen and ink estate renderings which can also be used for personalized stationery.

Sooo-z currently lives in Westport, CT with her handsome husband and young children. She has rediscovered her early love for oil painting, works as an illustrator, and has a growing Estate Rendering business.
